download this file  :   Fallout3-2.reg

now edit it (right click on it and select "modify") :

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Bethesda Softworks]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3]
"Installed Path"="REPLACE WITH YOUR PATH:\\fallout 3 - Special Edition/"

for example : "c:\\Program Files (x86)\\DarckRepacks\\Fallout 3 - Special Edition/"

plz respect \\ quotation ...save and apply by double clicking on it ....sorry about this mistake of mine ... now you should be able to finish install instructions...

@~Z~

use  Enigma Virtual Box to recompile the main exe with reg, so it automatically register the reg file and run the game,

don't worry it won't write the reg file in disk(always run it virual)

not sure it can since i never used it ... don't have time to learn that to be able to make the installer

current new installer still doesn't work because of the need for app string in new value to write in registry ... doesn't work from [registry] section as it doesn't have app value yet when it launches installer

now trying from

if (CurStep = ssPostInstall) and not ISDoneError

adding :

  RegWriteStringValue(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, 'SOFTWARE\Fallout3',
    'Installed Path', ExpandConstant('{app}/'));

i am installing right now to check if it works ok ...
